Kwangwoon Middle School Ice Hockey — Quantitative Assessment
It wasn't one player's problem. It was a gap in the team's training.

What we tested
Across five sessions between 1 July and 7 August 2026, we tested 16 field players. Performance axes were adjusted for age and level. Because a goaltender's position makes assessment against field-player standards invalid, the goaltender was separated from the composite score and issued a dedicated report.
What it showed
Looking across the full-squad performance matrix by quality revealed a team-level gap. On backward skating, six of sixteen fell at or below “needs improvement” — and that group included athletes ranked high overall. That suggested a team-level training gap rather than an individual problem. Reaction time, by contrast, had the smallest spread, making it a low priority for individual work.
What changed
Testing separated team priorities from individual ones, not athletes by rank — backward skating became a shared team task, while high-variance qualities became individual ones. We don't test athletes to rank them. We test to find what the team should train together.
Athlete names are withheld. Data on minors is collected and managed with guardian consent.
Your team can find this out too.
